  • Associate Executive Secretary, Executive Secretariat, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2006-2008)

  • Special Assistant to the Wage and Hour Administrator, U.S. Department of Labor (2003-2005)

Ms. Eng joined the Chertoff Group in July of 2009 after three years of serving at the Department of Homeland Security both in the Secretary’s office and at the operational level.  As part of Secretary Michael Chertoff’s staff, Ms. Eng oversaw and coordinated department-wide responses to every directive and policy issue that originated from the White House, including the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council.  Additionally, she oversaw the compilation of the daily briefing book for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security.  Most importantly in her role as Associate Executive Secretary, Ms. Eng helped bring best business practices to a newly formed Cabinet Department and one of the most complex government mergers in U.S. history.

In 2008, Ms. Eng left the Secretary’s office to become the Senior Advisor to the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, focusing on improving business processes much as she had done in the Secretary’s office, but at an operational level.  During her time there, she also assisted in the coordination and response to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

Previous to her experience at the Department of Homeland Security, Ms. Eng worked at Condé Nast Publications and also the U.S. Department of Labor.  Her start in government began in 2002 when she worked at the White House in the Office of Political Affairs.  Ms. Eng holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.

“Our principals earned their reputations through direct operational responsibility and demonstrating successful results. By applying that same dedicated ‘hands on’ approach, we are now helping our clients achieve their objectives.”
