TCG Webinar: "Diminishing the Cyber Threat: How State and Local Governments Can Get Ahead"

March 18, 2015

2:00 - 3:00pm EST

As cybercrime continues to increase in threat and severity, the need for government action and response in close collaboration with enterprises and industry has never been more important. For the federal government, there are an increasing number of programs and initiatives in place. Yet for the state and local government, limited resources and escalating cybersecurity challenges continue to plague their ability to prepare and mitigate an attack. The sensitive types of personal information state and local governments hold—including health insurance information, confidential legal information, and confidential criminal information—only amplifies the need for robust cybersecurity, while often fragmented state and local government IT networks and systems makes cybersecurity even harder. While a few collaborative programs are in place to help improve state and local government cybersecurity programs, there is a lack of awareness of these tools, resources, and how to leverage federal programs.

View this webcast to:

  • Gain insight and guidance on the growing cyber threat facing state and local governments
  • Identify the resources and programs available to state and local governments
  • Learn how state and local government officials can build a more effective and threat-centric approach to guarding and preparing against cyber threats.

Speakers:

  • Steve Caimi, Industry Solutions Specialist, US Public Sector
  • Dan Lohrmann, Chief Security Officer & Chief Strategist, Security Mentor, Inc; former Chief Security Officer, State of Michigan
  • Teri Takai, Former Chief Information Officer, State of California
