Jerome Pickett

Biography

Jerome is a renown senior executive with 25+ years of experience delivering innovative solutions, transformational servant leadership, crisis management and organization design. Jerome has served in highly impactful roles in the public sector, private sector, and academia.

Jerome began his extensive 17-year career as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service (USSS) focusing on global investigations related to abuses of technology to include computer fraud, network intrusion, identity theft, and terrorism. Jerome served as a computer forensic examiner and managed a computer forensic lab, led a cyber-investigative task force and is an awarded investigator. Jerome participated in search and rescue operations at Ground Zero and worked with a team of USSS agents that investigated the terrorists involved in the September 11 attacks. Jerome concluded his career with the USSS by serving on the Presidential Protective Details for George W Bush and Barack Obama while operating in over 100 countries, led protective teams for visiting Heads of State and Government vising the U.S., conducted critical systems infrastructure cyber advances for Presidential visits, and served as a Team Leader for the Presidential Counter Assault Team.

After Jerome’s career with the U.S. Secret Service, he served as the Executive Vice President & Chief Security Officer for the National Basketball Association where he led all aspects of the leagues global security operations. In his capacity Jerome integrated innovative technology across the NBAs global offices and venues spanning 5 leagues, developed protocols and chaired the NBAs Crisis Management Team, built the first league-deployed Global Security Operations Center, and created an industry-leading arena Quality Assurance Process. Jerome created Duty of Care processes that have been adopted by several companies. He also led the NBA to 5 Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act awards and was responsible for the NBAs security planning and coronavirus compliance protocol management in Orlando “bubble.”

Jerome continued his executive career by joining CLEAR, a secure identity company, leading the Sports & Entertainment business as SVP & General Manager. Jerome led the adoption of CLEAR’s innovative technology designed to unlock the experiences offered to guests in a secure and meaningful way. Under Jerome’s leadership partnerships grew 6x and revenue grew 3x, while growing a team from 3 to 51. Jerome was recognized by Sports Business Journal as a Power Player in technology in 2021.

Jerome has received numerous awards, including the U.S. Secret Service Medal of Valor for his heroic actions during 9/11, Federal Law Enforcement Investigator of The Year by the Federal Law Enforcement Association, and Industry Leader Under 40 by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. Jerome serves as Board Director for Magnet Forensics, is a member of the Marist College Board of Trustees, and co-chaired the Department of Homeland Security Commercial Facilities Sector Coordinating Council.

Jerome earned a Masters in Homeland Security from American Military University and a Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Marist College. He is completing a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Ethical Leadership from Marist College.
