Mike Novak is a security, investigative and training consultant with over 40 years of combined U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Federal Air Marshal and Corporate Security experience. Novak held positions at Comcast as the Director of Corporate Security before taking the role of Chief Security Officer of both News Corp and FOX.
Mr. Novak began his career as a special agent with the U.S. Secret Service in Detroit, Michigan and served in a variety of positions around the country in investigations, protection and training. Mr. Novak retired from the USSS as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the Presidential Protective Division where he oversaw the security of the White House Complex as well as the security for the First Family shortly after 9/11 and the Anthrax attacks.
Novak then joined the U.S. Federal Air Marshals as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of training to coordinate the preparation of Air Marshals to fly missions. He was also the Chief of Staff & Assistant Director of Training before being selected as the Deputy Director of the organization.
Mr. Novak was appointed the Transportation Security Administrations (TSA) first Assistant Administrator of Training and Workforce Engagement, where he established the TSA Academy located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia.
Mr. Novak left government service and took a role as the Director of Corporate Security for Comcast Corporation. His responsibilities included executive protection, investigations, and crisis management. Novak was then named the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for News Corp in New York and the FOX Corporation shortly thereafter. As the CSO he was responsible for physical security, executive protection, event security, investigations, security operations centers, crisis management and business continuity across both companies.
Novak retired from his roles at News Corp and FOX Corporation in February of 2022 before joining The Chertoff Group as a senior advisor where Novak focuses on high-profile security and strategy engagements with Fortune 500 Clients.
