Jay Humphlett joined The Chertoff Group as a senior advisor in 2025. His passion is bringing commercial technology and innovation to public sector clients at scale.
He has extensive experience developing and executing high-impact customer-led growth strategies and business transformations for both emerging and established technology companies, with an impressive track record of leading strong and engaged teams to accelerate revenues and profitability in support of defense, intelligence and federal/civilian/SLG customers around the world. His experience spans a variety of markets and business models to include SaaS, AI, hardware, systems integration and services.
Mr. Humphlett began his career as a Naval Flight Officer flying F-14 Tomcats where he completed two combat cruises to support Operation Desert Storm/Southern Watch and graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
After the Navy, he worked in venture capital, held executive P&L positions at Raytheon, founded a private equity and consulting firm, served as President for a special mission aviation firm and then as CEO for a premier provider of intelligence-driven global health protection. His next role was at Dataminr where he served as Executive Vice President, Global Public Sector and as a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
