David Evon is a Senior Director with The Chertoff Group’s Security Risk & Resilience practice where he helps Fortune 500 companies, family offices, and global organizations manage complex risks.
David has held notable roles in both government and private industry over 25 years — most recently as Chief of Europe Operations for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, overseeing FBI operations and engagement in more than 25 countries. David also served in various leadership roles with the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division focused on Global Operations and Special Operations in the Middle East.
In these positions he fostered and maintained close relationships across the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and with private sector partners to counter efforts of hostile nation states and foreign terrorist organizations. He led a joint terrorism task force focused on threats emanating from within the United States, including home grown extremism and domestic terrorism.
As an FBI pilot, David conducted sensitive operations and surveillance missions; an Associate Division Counsel providing guidance on U.S. law, FBI policy and operational risk identification and mitigation; and the lead counterintelligence instructor at the FBI Academy for new and veteran FBI agents and analysts. He also served as a Case Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency, operating globally in areas of intelligence, counterintelligence, cyber operations and counterterrorism.
David held the position of Captain and Judge Advocate for the U.S. Air Force focused on procurement and source selection of sensitive technologies for the Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile System Center. In the private sector, he served as Environmental, Safety and Regulatory Affairs Contract Counsel for Valero Energy Corporation.
David earned his Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the University of New Haven.
