George Fields is a Director with The Chertoff Group’s Strategic Advisory Services practice area, where he assists Fortune 500 clients in managing and mitigating risk by using his multifaceted background, which includes 14 years of combined military and private sector experience.
George currently leads physical and supply chain security assessments for manufacturing clients operating in both North American and International markets. He provides support in meeting compliance requirements with security standards such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s C-TPAT Program (Customs Trade Against Terrorism) and other international AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) programs. George also assists clients in completing security threat assessments, vulnerability assessments and comprehensive risk assessments for corporate headquarters and other critical locations.
Before joining The Chertoff Group, George managed security for a precious metals mining company where he was directly responsible for corporate and physical security operations, risk management, threat intelligence, and travel security in high-risk environments. Previously, he worked as a security specialist and consultant with an oil and gas pipeline development project, advising on physical security and operational security strategies and managing executive protection operations.
George presently serves as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army National Guard. He began his military career as an Infantry officer and has served in several leadership and operational positions, leading up to his current role as a Battalion Intelligence Officer.
George is fluent in Spanish. His parallel and complementary career tracks, combined with his bicultural background, have made him effective in operating in a variety of international security and risk-related environments.
